Services
IFS + EMDR Intensive Therapy
Extended sessions designed for deeper, focused work using an integrated EMDR and IFS approach.
Michael works with trauma, complex patterns, and neurodivergence, supporting deeper understanding and meaningful internal change. He also specializes in working with therapists who want to experience these models firsthand and engage in their own internal work.
Intensives are designed for people who feel stuck despite insight or previous therapy, or who want a more focused way to do deep work.
Adult ADHD, Autism & OCD Assessments
Comprehensive psychometric assessments using structured interviews and standardized measures.
These evaluations can explore ADHD, autism, OCD, or provide a full differential diagnosis when things haven’t fully made sense, offering clarity about how your mind works and why.
This includes experience working with high-masking adults exploring autism, where traits may be less immediately visible.
These assessments are especially helpful if you’ve always felt different but never fully understood why.
Relationship Therapy
IFS-informed relationship work that helps each partner understand their own internal experience while learning to see and respond to each other more clearly, especially when you find yourselves having the same arguments or getting stuck in the same dynamics.
This approach supports partners in moving out of reactive cycles and into more grounded, connected ways of relating.
Ongoing Therapy (Weekly or Biweekly)
Consistent, depth-oriented therapy for individuals who want to better understand, connect with themselves, and shift patterns over time.
Grounded in EMDR, IFS, and trauma-informed care, this work supports increased clarity and flexibility, and helps you feel less pulled around by your reactions, including for those navigating neurodivergence.
Ideal for building lasting change at a sustainable pace.
Does this sound like you?
You Feel Stuck in the Same Patterns
You’ve tried to change, to react differently, to not shut down, to not spiral, but something keeps pulling you back into the same patterns.
You’re tired of feeling stuck, and you don’t know what you need… You just know something has to shift.
You Have a Lot Going On Inside
You process the world intensely. Thoughts, emotions, sensations. Sometimes it looks like anxiety, and other times depression. Sometimes both. You’re not “too much.”
Your system is working overtime, and you deserve support that understands how you’re wired.
You Wonder Why Your Brain Works This Way
Does it feel like you’ve always had to work harder to keep up?
Do you often feel misunderstood, overwhelmed, or overly aware of how others see you?
We’ll explore that with care, context, and compassion.
You’re Not Sure Who You Are Anymore
After trauma or major change, identity can feel confusing, like you’re no longer who you once were but not yet who you want to be.
Together, we’ll make sense of where you are now, reconnect with what matters to you, and support you in living a life that feels like yours.
Therapy That Meets You Where You Are
You don’t have to perform or hold it all together here
We go at the pace that feels good for your system
Every part of you gets space to be understood
Over time, you can expect:
More clarity about why you react the way you do
More awareness and choice in how you respond
More confidence in who you are becoming
This is about helping you feel more like you.
Meet Michael Pretz
Licensed Professional Counselor
Therapist. Deep listener. Translator of internal worlds.
I’m a therapist who really wants to understand what’s going on inside, not just what shows up on the surface.
I work with people who think deeply, feel intensely, and have complex nervous systems that don’t always feel easy to navigate. I also bring my own lived experience into this work, including being a late-diagnosed autistic adult and someone who has long understood ADHD from the inside.
I also work with many therapists and highly self-aware individuals who are looking for a more experiential, depth-oriented approach, especially those who want to understand how approaches like EMDR and IFS actually feel in practice.
I’ve spent my career helping people make sense of the parts of themselves that feel too much, not enough, too stuck, or too complicated. No judgment. No pathologizing your sensitivity or intelligence.
Just honest collaboration and space to be fully human.
Creating a plan that works for you
Your internal world has layers. Thoughts that move fast, feelings that run deep, and protective parts that learned to survive whatever came before.
We’re not trying to fight those parts of you. We’re trying to understand them.
Here’s how we work together:
Trauma-informed: We go at the pace your nervous system can actually handle
Neurodivergence-affirming: Your brain isn’t a problem to be fixed
Collaborative: We check in and decide together what feels right
Depth-oriented: Real change comes from insight and integration
This work is grounded in a few core approaches:
EMDR: To help process experiences that continue to affect you in the present
Internal Family Systems (IFS): To understand and relate to different parts of yourself
Existential Approach: To explore purpose, meaning, choice, and how you want to live moving forward
I help you understand why your reactions make sense, and how to build more choice, calm, and connection from the inside out.
You bring your lived wisdom and your expertise in your own experience. I’ll bring curiosity, structure, and steadiness.
“When someone really hears you without passing judgment on you, without trying to take responsibility for you, without trying to mold you, it feels damn good.”
Next Step
You don’t need to have it all figured out.
We can start with a conversation and decide together what makes the most sense for you.
